The ridge tops around Kings Canyon are covered in beehive rock domes, similar to but much smaller than the Bungle-Bungle Ranges in northern Western Australia. This
image was made from the southern rim, looking across the Canyon, toward the end of the 6km Canyon Walk. While the initial section of the Canyon Walk is steep,
thereafter it levels out, so if you're reasonably fit (and take sun block & plenty of water), it's an absolute must do.
Shot on Fuji Velvia ISO 50 using a Nikon F80 and an AF 80-200mm f2.8 lens at 200mm. |
