Yes, that beach in the Qantas advertisements. Whitehaven Beach is 7km long on the eastern side of Whitsunday Island. It is only accessible by boat or air
for day trips, which hopefully will prevent it getting "loved to death". The sand is incredibly fine (a potentially serious enemy of camera equipment) and of
course, in the sunshine, it is startlingly white, due to the fact the sand is 99% quartz silica - fewer impurities means less colour.
