The placid start to what is one of the more torrid journeys for a river in the greater Blue Mountains - this is the top section of Morong Falls, which plunge some 400m to join the upper reaches of the Kowmung River. The Kowmung River then embarks upon a helter-skelter journey through numerous chasms and ravines before eventually emptying into Cox's River and Lake Burragorang (and Sydney's water supply).

Shot on Fuji Velvia ISO 50 using a Nikon F801 and an AF 24mm f2.8 lens.
